 For many years, NACAS has supported carers and promoted the value of the profession. 

As the organisation has evolved, so too has our ambition.

NACAS (National Association of Care and Support Workers) is changing its name to better reflect its mission to champion the recognition of professional carers through a trusted register, giving them the giving them the credibility, a voice, and the status their work deserves.

We have a vision of a future where every care professional is seen, recognised, and respected for the skilled work they do. 

Your profession. Recognised. 

The new name of the organisation is the Care Professional Organisation, or CPO. 

The CPO’s vision is a future where every care professional is seen, recognised, and respected for the skilled work they do.    

The legal entity had already changed. All public facing materials will be updated on from Tuesday 24th March 2026. 

NACAS membership will continue, but under the new name of the Care Professional Organisation.  

Members will still receive the same support and benefits, with clearer alignment to our professional standards work and the voluntary register.  

Your membership benefits will remain the same. However, the App and portal will be updated. As the name will change, you may to update your preferred system. More information will follow 

We are looking to make a small change to our membership pricing. This is not as a direct result of the change to the Care Professional Organisation. It is due to an array of new membership benefits that we are introducing. 

As a valued member, you will receive more information on the changes very soon.

 No. Your registration will be carried across into the new brand. You will now become a registrant of the Care Professional Register. The existing website will become inaccessible after some time. Access will move across to www.careprofessionalorganisation.co.uk.  

 No. The Care Professional Register is voluntary, and Care Professional Organisation is not a statutory regulator.  

If you need to do anything, you will be contacted directly by a member of the team.   

If you reference NACAS publicly, we ask that you replace it with the Care Professional Organisation (CPO) after 24 March 2026. 

 Yes. All details will change on 24th March 2026. However, our previous email address and website URLs will be supported for some time.
