NACAS was born out of my deep personal desire to create a professional body that would elevate and support care professionals—people like me, who are dedicated to providing essential care to those who need it most. As a care worker myself, I have witnessed firsthand the multifaceted skills and profound dedication that our profession demands. Despite the challenges, I always felt that the vital contributions of care workers were often underappreciated and not fully recognised for their true value.
This passion drove me to set up NACAS. I envisioned an organisation whose sole focus would be the care professionals themselves—a body that promotes and champions the professionalism of care workers and highlights the unique blend of empathy, technical knowledge, and adaptability required to deliver high standards of care. I wanted NACAS to be more than just a typical professional organisation; I wanted it to be a space that uplifts care workers and invests in their growth.
At NACAS, we provide far-reaching benefits to help care professionals thrive both in their careers and personal lives. We offer comprehensive training, recognising that continuous learning is crucial to maintaining high-quality care. Our mental health and peer-to-peer support services address the emotional toll that often accompanies care work while fostering a sense of community and solidarity among our members. Additionally, NACAS offers resources and opportunities to help care professionals advance their careers, improve their well-being, and ultimately make a greater impact in their roles.
NACAS was created to be the professional body that truly understands the needs, challenges, and aspirations of care workers—because it was built by care workers, for care workers.
