FREE Legal Advice

Legal

Sometimes we need help if we have an issue that requires specialist legal advice, whether at work or need guidance on other issues

At NACAS we can offer all our members whether directly or self-employed  access to a free legal advice clinic, courtesy of our legal partner Hogan Lovells

Many of our members have benefited from the guidance and support provided, resulting in their cases being satisfactorily resolved and saving over £20,000 in legal fees!

(*conditions apply - must have been a member of NACAS for a minimum of 3 months before submitting a request. We are unable to support with pre-existing matters.

Immigration

With major changes to the immigration system coming up at the end of the year, and with many of our members being non-British workers, we have teamed up with Truth Legal Solicitors to provide free immigration advice to our members. Truth Legal will provide free immigration on any area of immigration, including areas such as:-

  • Advice around the new EU Settlement Scheme
  • Spouse visas
  • How to bring family members to the UK
  • Advice around the new immigration system from 2021
  • Applications for indefinite leave to remain
  • Applications for citizenship
  • Complex cases and human rights challenges

NACAS is pleased to be able to add this additional free benefit to our membership offering at a time when there is still uncertainty following Brexit, and the non inclusion of care workers in the proposed Health & Care Immigration Visa. We are proud to be able offer support to our members who may have concerns over their own situation.

Important Information

NACAS is not a trade union, and as such cannot legally offer representation in the workplace. Neither are we able to send a representative to attend disciplinary meetings as a witness.

However, if you do have a workplace issue, we will do all we can to support you. All legal advice given is intended to provide you with the necessary guidance to enable you to understand your rights and to navigate a disciplinary procedure. This advice is often sufficient to bring a satisfactory resolution to a workplace issue.

Please also note, that all legal advice provided by Hogan Lovells is done so in addition to their normal workload, so they may not respond immediately.
