Dom Care Registration in Wales
NACAS supports the compulsory registration of Domiciliary Care Workers in Wales from April 2020. From this date all Dom Care Workers will need to have a minimum qualification in order to register with Social Care Wales in order to continue working as a Dom Care worker in Wales.
Social Care Wales will maintain the register which is now open for all Domiciliary Care Workers to voluntary register.
If you have worked 3 out of the last 5 years in Dom care and have no formal qualification you can register by asking your employer to complete a Statement of Competence. However, this registration option ends after April 2020.
So, if you meet the above criteria, ask your employer to ensure they complete a Statement of Competence and get yourself registered.
